Welcome to Saranac Lake High School! On behalf of the Saranac Lake High School faculty and staff, I am pleased to welcome you to our school. We hope that the contents of this website will provide information that is informative and helpful, allowing parents, students and community members to stay connected with our school.
The students, families, staff, administration and the community of Saranac Lake all work together to help create a remarkable high school and I will do my best to keep that tradition strong and healthy. The mission of the Saranac Lake High School is to guide individuals towards acquiring the knowledge, skills and attitudes that will help them maximize their potential for leading productive lives. This is made evident through our commitment to provide a well rounded education in a variety of academic fields, along with providing students with numerous extra-curricular opportunities.
The Saranac Lake High School staff is committed to establishing a safe and secure school environment that allows our students to flourish and grow intellectually, emotionally, and socially. About Mr. Dann
Mr. Dann attended the Saranac Lake CSD as a student and graduated from the Saranac Lake High School in 1996. He received his Bachelor’s degree and Master's degrees from SUNY Cortland in Elementary/ Computer Education. He received his Certificate of Advanced Studies in Educational Leadership from Syracuse University.
He began his teaching career in the Syracuse City School District, where he taught several grade levels at Seymour Elementary, Porter Elementary and Franklin Magnet School. He was the Dean of Students for one year at Danforth Middle School, which is also in the SCSD. In 2006, he moved back to Saranac Lake and became the Dean of Students at the Saranac Lake Middle School. In 2007, he was named Principal at Petrova Elementary School and stayed there for six years before being named the Saranac Lake High School Principal in 2013.
Mr. Dann lives in Saranac Lake with his wife and three daughters.
